In order to establish the extent of need for Affordable Housing within the Plan Area we asked North Yorkshire Council Rural Housing Enablers to undertake a Local Housing Needs Survey. The Report, published in October 2024, is available here.
In summary, 17 people were identified as being in need of affordable housing compared to a pipeline supply of ten properties on which planning consent is currently available (six houses on the Auction Mart site and four 1 bedroom units within the Peacock and Verity development on Silver Street) and a further 19 units in respect of which an a decision is currently pending (development off Swinburn Road, Masham)
