Masham Parish Council (MPC) have been awarded a grant from the Derbyshire Environmental Trust towards replacing the existing and inadequate play area at the above address. We are now required to put this work out to open competitive tender to satisfy the rules of the grant award, which is the purpose of this announcement.
We require the following specification for the site and new equipment:
Play Equipment

• A sturdy multi-play unit comprising two tower platforms, stainless steel slide, fireman’s pole with appropriate entry/exit points and play panels.
• A sturdy swing frame sufficiently large for 2 flat seats and 2 cradle seats for younger children.
• An inclusive roundabout preferably with seating designed for under 8 years old’s.
• Two DDA friendly springers with different designs perhaps with a rural theme, eg tractor and farm animal.

Site Preparation

• All redundant play equipment will be removed from site prior to the chosen contractor starting work.
• Site preparation for laying wet-pour safer surfacing for the area where this is to be laid.
• Power wash all of the existing area that will not have wet-pour installed.

Groundworks

• Providing and laying wet-pour at the appropriate recommended depth (Please quote on the basis of laying up to 150 square metres as all new equipment to be sited on this surface and to be made good around the one existing piece of equipment that will remain).
• Installing the above equipment.

Completion Statements

• Please provide the period of guarantee for each piece of play equipment and the wet-pour safer surfacing once the project has been completed.
• Please provide a safety certificate on completion.

MPC have set a deadline to have all quotations to be received between 5th and 27th of October 2023 The successful bidder will be notified by 10th November 2023 and work can be commenced from mid-November onwards subject to suitable weather conditions. It is planned that the new play area will be fully functioning by 1st March 2024. All potential contractors can submit a quotation for these works.
